We're excited to be partnering with a long-established and well-respected shipyard to find a talented Mechanical Piping Engineer . This is a great opportunity to join a team working on marine projects and contribute to the design and construction of complex ship systems. What You'll Do
  • Review machinery and equipment specifications to ensure they meet technical and class requirements.
  • Interpret classification rules and respond to technical review comments.
  • Work with a range of ship systems — including engines, generators, propulsion, gearboxes, hydraulics, HVAC, and refrigeration.
  • Design and review marine piping systems such as bilge, ballast, cooling, fuel oil, sanitary, and fire protection systems.
  • Choose appropriate pumps, compressors, pipes, valves, and fittings that meet performance and pressure standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and vendors to develop piping schematics, machinery layouts, and installation plans.
  • Review mechanical interfaces for key equipment such as engines, gearboxes, and propeller shafting.
  • Work with engineering teams to build detailed 3D ship models for production, ensuring proper system routing and clash-free design.
    Prepare material take-offs (MTO) for pipes, fittings, and spools for fabrication.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree or Diploma in Marine , Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education.
  • At least 3 years (or more) of experience in a shipyard environment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and confident with general computer tools.
  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding processes and technical specifications.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to discuss projects confidently with customers.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
