Part-time Librarian

Responsibilities:

• Ensure efficient processing and circulation of resources to students and other library patrons.
• Shelve library materials and read shelves in accordance with recognized library standards i.e., DDC for academic libraries.
• Assist library patrons with queries.
• Ensure good housekeeping in the library, including keeping the library shelves tidy and maintaining clear and accurate shelf signages to assist patrons in locating materials.
• Follow-up with students and staff on overdue, damaged and/or lost books.
• Assist with stocktaking and weeding of library materials

Requirements:

• Required to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays (9 am to 5 pm)
• 4 GCE 'O' level passes, including English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Enjoy interacting with library stakeholders
• Open to learning to operate the Library System, with training provided
• Comfortable working independently
• Stooping, bending, lifting and reaching is required for the picking up and shelving of books
