Job Title: Ceramic Studio Technician (Back-end)

Location: Orchard Central, Singapore

Salary: $15 - $20/hour

Working days: 30hours to 35hours per week

Job Overview:

The Ceramic Technician (Back-End Support) is responsible for ensuring the smooth technical and operational support of all ceramic production processes. This role focuses on the preparation, maintenance, and quality control of clay, glazes, and kiln operations, while providing logistical and material support to the instructors, artists, and front-of-house team. The technician plays a crucial role in maintaining studio efficiency, safety, and high-quality ceramic output.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, mix, and apply glazes to ceramic works according to studio standards.
• Operate and monitor kilns for bisque and glaze firing, ensuring correct temperature schedules and firing results.
• Maintain firing logs and ensure safety procedures are followed during kiln operations.
• Assist with clay preparation, studio organization, and general upkeep of work areas.
• Provide support to instructors and artists in backend processes to ensure smooth class and studio operations.
• If skilled, assist in wheel throwing for demonstrations, production, or special projects.

Job Qualifications:

• Experience working in a ceramics studio environment.
• Familiarity with different types of clay, glaze recipes, and kiln maintenance.
• Prior hands-on experience with ceramic glazing and firing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of firing safety practices.
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks in a studio setting.
• Knowledge of wheel-throwing techniques is a strong advantage.
• Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
