[What the role is]

You will be part of the Coins & Business Excellence Division in the Currency Department responsible for managing the procurement of circulation currency stock, outsourced currency operations and development of new currency projects.

[What you will be working on]

You will also be working on environmental and sustainability issues relating to the management of Singapore's currency in circulation. 

You will have opportunities to be involved in the following areas of work:

  • Managing replenishment of circulation currency (notes and coins), including administering procurement procedures and liaising with appointed currency printers and relevant stakeholders, to ensure availability of currency stock to meet public demand and fulfilment of contractual requirements

  • Supervising and managing appointed contractors for outsourced currency operations (i.e. issuing, receiving, processing and storage of notes and coins), through conducting onsite inspections, reviewing reports and performance evaluations, to ensure deliverables and contractual requirements are met

  • Managing numismatic and commemorative currency projects, including conducting research and working with designers, to ensure smooth implementation in the issuance of such notes and coins

  • Conducting currency research to keep abreast of the latest developments and advancements in the industry

  • Handling currency-related enquiries and feedback from members of the public and the media

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of different stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments in the industry.

  • Applicants must be Singapore citizens

  • Possess good inter-personal and communication skills

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work well in both team and individual settings

  • Working experience in project/contract management

  • Good knowledge of government procurement principles and processes
