Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer - Information Security

The Engineering and Technology team is at the core of the Shopee platform development. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technological challenges in a dynamic environment.

About the Team:

We seek a senior security engineer to support security governance projects and optimize security tool operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in security engineering, risk management, and automation, with the ability to lead security initiatives, enhance workflows, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead security risk governance projects by identifying vulnerabilities, prioritizing remediation, and implementing effective security controls.
  2. Perform comprehensive technical assessments of network architecture, infrastructure operations, and core systems to proactively address security risks.
  3. Develop and deploy automated security monitoring, alerting, and response systems to boost operational efficiency.
  4. Improve security workflows, incident response procedures, and reporting mechanisms to ensure timely risk detection and mitigation.
  5. Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams to embed security best practices into system design, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. At least 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, security governance, security tools operations, or related infrastructure fields.
  2. Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, ELK), IDS/IPS, EDR, forensic tools, and log analysis platforms.
  3. Proficiency in security automation and scripting languages like Python or Bash to enhance monitoring and operations.
  4. Deep knowledge of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and system hardening in both on-premise and cloud environments.
  5. Familiarity with secure configuration, logging pipelines, and monitoring architectures to ensure resilience and high availability.
  6. Experience with large-scale distributed systems, cloud security models (AWS, GCP, Azure), and container security.
  7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills to manage multiple security initiatives.
  8. Excellent project management, documentation, and communication abilities to coordinate with cross-functional teams and leadership.
  9. Ability to translate complex security risks into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
