Established for over 40 years, Continental Steel is a premier steel supplier in South East Asia. We are looking to hire an operator with experience in operating and maintenance of steel wire drawing equipment in Singapore.
Job Responsibilities:
Machine Assistance:
- Assist Technicians with setting up and troubleshooting machines.
- Help with routine maintenance tasks.
- Support the operation of steel wire drawing and fibre forming machines.
- Assist in handling raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished products.
- Support inventory management and coordination with the warehouse team.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Assist in packaging steel fibres according to company guidelines.
- Ensure accurate labelling and documentation.
- Collaborate with packaging and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in conducting inspections and testing.
- Support the QAQC engineer in maintaining quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the production area.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
- Report any safety incidents.
- Attend training sessions to learn machine operation and maintenance skills.
- Participate in the MSOC (Manufacturing Safety Orientation Course) test.
- Improve English proficiency to enhance communication and understanding of safety protocols.
Education:
- Secondary school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with operating and maintaining machinery.
- Basic understanding of machinery operation.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Proficiency in English; technical certifications are an added advantage.
- Relevant certification/license related to machinery operation and safety are an added advantage, such as MSOC certification (or to be obtained), lifting, rigger and signalman, welding, forklift etc.
