We have three distinctive restaurant brands in Singapore: Synthesis, MamaDiam, and Lou Shang. Each brand offers a unique experience:

• Synthesis: A wellness-themed restaurant-bar hidden behind a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) medical hall facade. Synthesis delivers a holistic dining experience with TCM-inspired cuisine and cocktails, promoting balance and wellness within the five elemental energies. ()
• MamaDiam: A secret bar and restaurant concealed behind a 1980s provision shop, offering an authentic Singaporean experience. Known for its modern twist on local food fare and curated cocktails, MamaDiam has been featured in STB's "Lost & Found in Singapore with Jackson Wang" and "Think You Know Singapore?" campaigns. ()
• Lou Shang: A 1990s HDB corridor-inspired café by day and bar by night, located above MamaDiam. Lou Shang centers around nostalgia, with a menu inspired by the flavours Singaporeans grew up with. ()

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team, crafting exceptional coffee and creating a warm, welcoming experience for our guests.

Job Summary:

The Barista will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and beverages while delivering exceptional service that enhances the guest experience at Lou Shang. This role involves working closely with the team to maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring consistency in drink preparation, and supporting overall café and bar operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Beverage Crafting: Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, especially coffees, and other beverages that align with the standards of Lou Shang.
• Customer Experience: Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers, understanding their preferences, and recommending drinks that enhance their experience.
• Quality Control: Calibrate espresso machines at the start of each shift and ensure all beverages meet the Cafe's quality standards before serving.
• Efficiency & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
• Operational Support: Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring the Cafe is ready for service.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow baristas and team members to foster a positive, welcoming environment, and ensure seamless daily operations.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards and proper equipment handling, to maintain a safe workplace.
• Innovation & Trends: Stay up to date with coffee trends, brewing techniques, and menu innovations to continuously elevate the Cafe experience.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and communicate with management to ensure essential supplies are replenished in a timely manner.
• Ad Hoc Duties: Support additional tasks related to Cafe and bar operations as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Barista, with an understanding of coffee preparation and brewing techniques.
• Passion for coffee and a keen interest in learning about new beans, brewing methods, and trends.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency in drink quality and presentation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills to engage with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues in daily operations.
