Job Description

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' diverse needs
  • Use evidence-based, autism-friendly teaching strategies and assessments to track students' progress
  • Collaborate on curriculum planning and development
  • Build positive relationships and support individualised education plans (IEPs/ITPs)
  • Manage behaviours and implement strategies to support students' well-being
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment
  • Support co-curricular activities (CCAs) and school initiatives
  • Participate in work committees to achieve student outcomes
  • Work with families and external partners to support student development
  • Assist with transition planning for post-school success
  • Collaborate with allied professionals to development and implement support plans to support students' learning and well-being
  • Maintain and update accurate records, reports and student progress data
  • When appropriate, provide guidance to junior staff on teaching and learning, and work processes and activities

Job Requirement

  • Recognised Polytechnic Diploma
  • Teaching qualifications or equivalent in Special Education will be an advantage
  • Experience in dealing with children and youths with autism will be an advantage
