Special Education Teacher

Job Description
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' diverse needs
- Use evidence-based, autism-friendly teaching strategies and assessments to track students' progress
- Collaborate on curriculum planning and development
- Build positive relationships and support individualised education plans (IEPs/ITPs)
- Manage behaviours and implement strategies to support students' well-being
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- Support co-curricular activities (CCAs) and school initiatives
- Participate in work committees to achieve student outcomes
- Work with families and external partners to support student development
- Assist with transition planning for post-school success
- Collaborate with allied professionals to development and implement support plans to support students' learning and well-being
- Maintain and update accurate records, reports and student progress data
- When appropriate, provide guidance to junior staff on teaching and learning, and work processes and activities
Job Requirement
- Recognised Polytechnic Diploma
- Teaching qualifications or equivalent in Special Education will be an advantage
- Experience in dealing with children and youths with autism will be an advantage
