What you can look forward to as Service Engineer-Marine Electrica: 

  • Provide onboard technical support for the installation, servicing, and repair of Krimpen and Arco control systems.
  • Assist in mechanical system support tasks as needed, within the scope of personal expertise.
  • Perform work on PLCs, electric drive systems, stepper drives, and other ZF-related control systems.
  • Inspect electrical wiring installations and supervise shipyard personnel and ship crew during installation and repair activities. Ensure all completed work complies with approved drawings, quality standards, and contractual specifications.
  • Attend meetings at shipyards or onboard vessels with ship owners, crew, consultants, suppliers, technical superintendents, and yard managers to discuss outstanding and upcoming tasks.
  • Support the Service Manager/Coordinator by providing technical assistance through the helpdesk.
  • Assist in training junior or newly joined engineers to support team development and knowledge sharing.
  • Monitor progress to ensure timely completion of jobs, adhering to ZF's quality standards.
  • Submit clear, detailed, and acknowledged service reports following the completion of each project.
  • Manage project cost, schedule, and technical requirements related to product development.
  • Develop technical solutions and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Be prepared for frequent out-of-town travel to support on-site projects.
  • Liaise with subcontractor representatives and communicate effectively across all levels of stakeholders.
  • Adhere strictly to ZF's compliance policies and maintain transparency in dealings with ZF Management and external customers, particularly in matters of representation and commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate within a regional matrix structure to support the growth of ZF's Marine business.
  • Travel throughout the region and to manufacturing facilities as required.

Your Profile as Service Engineer-Marine Electrica:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the related field
  • Proficient skills in MS Office (especially Word)
  • Independence, resourcefulness and proactivity in problem solving
  • Good health and willing to travel offshore and overseas when required
  • Good English language skills
