Social Media and Partnerships Intern

About Us

Mandarin Learning Tours is a premium, founder-led educational travel experience designed for globally minded families with children aged 2–6 years. We specialize in authentic Mandarin immersion through meaningful, real-world experiences in Beijing, crafted to spark deep cultural connection and joy in early learners. We are not a traditional Chinese language program, nor a cookie-cutter family tour. We are building a new category: mandarin and cultural learning through immersive travel.

Key Responsibilities

Social media:

• Ideate, create and schedule content for our social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc).
• Maintain and update a social media content calendar to ensure consistent posting.
• Lead on video/photo shoots: from concept through to editing short-form videos and still imagery.
• Monitor social media trends, hashtags, platform changes and emerging content formats to keep our content fresh and relevant.
• Community management: Respond to social media comments, messages and engage with our online community (under guidance) to boost interaction.
• Tracking performance and analytics: Assist in analysing content performance metrics (engagement, reach, impressions) and provide insights or suggestions for optimisation. With these insights, advise on ad boosting strategy.

Partnerships

• Research and identify potential brand partners including associations, schools, community organisations aligned with our brand values and target audience.
• Research and identify opportunities to show up at industry events, and liaise with event organisers for the company to show up at the event
• Support outreach efforts to potential clients: drafting outreach emails, organising contact lists
• Assist with partnership execution: coordinate partnership deliverables, schedules, collaboration logistics, and basic contract/support admin.
• Track and report on partnership performance (e.g. content outputs, engagement metrics, traffic/referrals) and document learnings.

General/ad-hoc:

• Simple editing of photos taken during monthly tours
• Organisation of photos into folders and sending these to clients
• Assist with partnership execution: coordinate partnership deliverables, schedules, collaboration logistics, and basic contract/support admin.

Requirements

• Currently studying for or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies or a related field.
• Familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) and comfortable using them both personally and professionally.
• Skills in content creation: photo or video shooting/editing, image and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write engaging captions, adapt tone for different channels.
• Creative and growth mindset with attention to detail; ability to generate fresh ideas
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a small and dedicated team
• Good organisational skills, able to work with deadlines in a fast-paced environment and track projects well.
