Purpose / Role:

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Legal Counsel to support the Director, Legal (Asia) in managing a broad range of legal matters across the Surbana Jurong Group. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects across Singapore and the wider Asia region, with a focus on construction, infrastructure, and real estate development.

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Advise on a wide spectrum of construction-related legal matters, including the review and negotiation of consultancy contracts for architecture, engineering, and other professional services across Singapore, overseas, and cross-border projects.
• Provide legal support on general commercial and construction documentation, including tender documents, RFPs, and building contract administration.
• Assist with legal aspects of financial and commercial issues related to real estate development and infrastructure works, as required.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage both complex and routine legal matters efficiently.
• Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of legal team members and deliver training sessions to internal clients.
• Stay abreast of legal developments and leverage legal technology tools to enhance service delivery.
• Identify and assess potential or actual conflicts of interest, offering guidance on appropriate mitigation and management strategies.

Requirements:

• University Degree holders in Law from a recognized institution.
• Qualified lawyers with a 5-10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally with a regional scope in Asia.
• Experienced in construction, commercial, and infrastructure law, with a strong understanding of the legal frameworks governing development projects.
• Strategic thinkers with a solution-oriented approach and strong business acumen.
• Detail-oriented and meticulous, with excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Tech-savvy, with a proactive approach to adopting digital tools and platforms.
