Job Description

As the Senior Coastal Engineer, you will be involved in:

  • Port planning projects (layout design, master planning, navigation and berthing assessments)

  • Client and team coordination

  • Design of Breakwaters, Groynes, Revetments and other "hard" coastal engineering solutions

  • Design of beaches, beach stabilisation measures, reclamations and other "soft" coastal engineering solutions

  • Marine engineering (ship-shore interface design, design of berthing and mooring equipment, determine environmental loads on port structures like breakwaters, jetties, quay walls and offshore foundations

  • Coastal studies (design of beach stabilisation measures, dredging studies, wave/hydraulic and morphology studies, scour assessments)

  • Execute different type of analysis ranging from Metocean Studies to Dynamic Mooring Analysis

  • Partake in projects that can be on Feasibility, (pre)FEED and Conceptual Design up to Basic and Detailed Design level

  • Support the drafters and BIM modellers to ensure the drawings and models comply with the customised designs and specifications

  • Coaching junior Coastal Engineers

Requirements:

  • Min. a degree in relevant field, preferably in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering

  • Min. 5 years relevant experience as a Coastal Engineer

  • Well-verse in project management and industry codes and standards

  • Able to adapt and work in highly collaborative environment

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in report writing

  • Flexible working attitude which also means willingness to travel and (short term) secondments abroad
