The Opportunity:

Our client is seeking a Technical Superintendent to join the Group Fleet Management and Group Technical Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and compliance of vessels with company policies and international regulations. The Technical Superintendent will report directly to the Technical Fleet Director and collaborate closely with the vessel crew to maintain operational standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, overseeing technical maintenance and certification processes for assigned vessels, and contributing to the strategic management of fleet operations.

The Job:

  • Ensure vessels comply with Classification Society, Flag state, and Port State regulations
  • Monitor and control technical maintenance and certification of assigned vessels
  • Manage vessel expenses budget according to established procedures
  • Report any structural or machinery failures to senior management promptly
  • Plan and report corrective repairs in cooperation with vessel crew

The Talent:

  • Minimum of 2 years of ashore experience as technical superitendent in managing dry or tanker vessels
  • Minimum COC 2nd engineer
  • Strong Japanese language proficiency due to frequent liaison with Japanese-speaking clients
  • Good communication and written skill in English is required for management reporting and internal work coordination
