Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of engineering personnel in the workshop.
  • Responsible for setting performance targets and ensuring maintenance processes are in place, streamlined to achieve set targets.
  • Support recruiting, hiring and onboarding of new team members.
  • Engineering projects management through structured planning, ensuring set timelines, budgets and resource allocation for successful execution.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders in various capacities to drive operational targets.
  • Tight management of engineering budget to support company's directives.
  • Spearhead technical investigations following incidents and accidents when required.
  • Responsible for preparation and execution of all engineering parts & services contracts.
  • Ensure and support execution of engineering training framework to develop and strengthen staff competencies.
  • Proactive in continuous improvement for engineering processes.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Health & Safety procedures, legal and company regulations.
  • Responsible for the safety, health and wellbeing of the department staff and visitors to the department through effective safety leadership and compliance with the business Health and Safety Policy, standards, procedures and processes.
  • Undertake any necessary audit to ensure strict compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for store management including stock counts and annual stock take exercise with the help of the store personnel.
  • Support ISO audit process and certification.
  • As a member of the senior management team, to be prepared to lead or support other projects and tasks that arise, in order to deliver business objectives.
  • Contribute to the strategic vision and goals of the engineering department and align with overall business objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience required in an automotive/ fleet maintenance or equivalent environment.
