Your day to day

voco Orchard Singapore is seeking a dynamic and passionate Laundry / Linen Attendant to be part of this hotel. As Laundry / Linen Attendant, you will provide laundry services to external and internal guests, issue uniforms and linen to staff according to systems and the procedures laid down by the hotel management. You will also take inventory and control movement of soiled, damaged and fresh linen and staff uniform.

People

  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Interact with outside contacts: Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction

Financial

  • Provide monthly laundry report to Finance Department
  • Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
  • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.

Guest Experience

  • Deliver and ensure all guest laundry or clean linen are delivered to the correct room daily.
  • Follow hotel standard on picking up or delivering guest laundry and ensure the laundry/cleaning is delivered to the correct room daily.
  • Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

Responsible Business

  • Separate linen/uniforms that needs repair and forward it to tailor and/or Laundry Manager for immediate action
  • Pick up and deliver guest laundry/cleaning from sorting to washing, folding and storing.
  • Make out laundry and dry cleaning sheet for the day
  • Distribute all fresh linen to Pantry closet and clean uniform to uniform room.
  • Support Linen and uniform for events and functions in the hotel.
  • Perform all stages of linen and uniform processing (i.e. sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen)
  • Prepare and examine laundered items after verifying numbers and types of articles to prepare to return to guest rooms.
  • Keep inventory of needed supplies for the laundry and linen area
  • Follow control procedure of operating equipment, FFE and Linen inventories
  • Ensure charge slips are posted to the guest account accordingly
  • Be alert to all possible hazards and practice safety at all times

What we need from you

  • Completed primary education with some housekeeping experience.
  • Able to speak, read and write simple English. Fluency in another language is an advantage
  • Physical stamina to perform housekeeping duties.
  • Commitment to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Great communication skills, ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflect highly on the hotel, the brand and the company.
