Job Summary:

To manage, control, and supervise the maintenance spares and materials store, ensuring the timely availability of critical spares, consumables, and tools for smooth plant operations. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, upholding housekeeping and safety standards, and driving cost-effective store management practices.

Working Location: Jurong Island

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am - 4.30pm

Company Transport: Near Jurong East MRT Station

Job Responsibilities:

1. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of materials in line with company procedures.
  • Manage slow-moving and obsolete inventory, recommending disposal or reuse.
  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts in the store.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely reordering of critical spares.
  • Conduct stock checks, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits.
  • Continuously improve inventory management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with annual stock take requirements.

2. Store Operations & Housekeeping

  • Supervise daily store operations, ensuring proper organization, labeling, and safe storage of materials.
  • Implement handling and preservation practices for sensitive spares (e.g., bearings, electrical/electronic parts).
  • Maintain 5S standards, housekeeping, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation (Goods Receipt, Issue Slips, Return Notes, Gate Passes).

3. Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with the Maintenance team to ensure spare parts availability for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Vendors for delivery and warranty claims.
  • Support shutdown/turnaround activities by staging required spares in advance.

4. Systems & Reporting

  • Manage ERP systems (GSAP/ZOHO/others) for all inventory transactions.
  • Generate stock consumption, KPI, and variance reports.
  • Track and control spare parts cost to ensure budget compliance.

5. Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise store personnel and contractors, ensuring work discipline and compliance.
  • Provide training and guidance on inventory control and safe material handling.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or ITE in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance stores, warehouse operations, or inventory management.
  • Knowledge of spare parts for rotating equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and reporting accuracy.
  • Knowledge of safe material handling; forklift license is a plus.
  • Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
