Key Responsibilities
Client Care
- Evaluate, design, and deliver occupational therapy programmes tailored to clients' individual needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide therapy in one-to-one, group, or specialized settings.
- Track clients' progress, assess the effectiveness of interventions, and update care plans accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with caregivers and team members regarding client progress.
- Refer clients to appropriate specialists for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.
- Conduct visits to homes, schools, or workplaces to support real-life functional outcomes.
- Provide education and training sessions for clients, caregivers, or staff as required.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reports.
- Support operational processes and quality improvement initiatives, including audits and risk management.
- Ensure therapy equipment and resources are well-maintained and available.
Mentoring & Supervision
- Coach and guide junior staff, therapy assistants, and volunteers in therapy delivery.
- Share knowledge, clinical updates, and best practices with colleagues.
- Train caregivers in strategies to reinforce therapy outcomes in daily routines.
Professional Development
- Stay current with the latest occupational therapy research, techniques, and evidence-based practices.
- Participate in professional development activities, case discussions, and team meetings.
- Contribute to research or quality improvement projects as required.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in community initiatives, outreach programmes, and cross-team projects.
- Represent the organisation in professional networks or partnerships when needed.
- Undertake additional duties that support service delivery and team goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council).
- Eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist under the Allied Health Professions Act 2011.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, proactive, and client-focused.
- Fluency in local languages is an advantage.
