Overview
We are looking for an Economist with a strong foundation in macroeconomics and financial sector analysis to join a policy-focused team. This role involves conducting surveillance and research on domestic and international financial systems, with a particular focus on banking and corporate sector dynamics.
You will contribute to regular macro-financial assessments, stress testing, and topical research that informs senior decision-makers and supports broader financial stability objectives. The role offers exposure to both domestic and global economic developments and their implications for financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse global macroeconomic trends and assess their potential impact on the domestic financial system.
- Conduct surveillance and stress testing of the banking and corporate sectors to identify vulnerabilities and systemic risks.
- Produce macro-financial updates and research reports for internal stakeholders.
- Undertake topical studies on financial stability issues such as bank business models, capital flows, climate-related financial risks, and macroprudential policy.
- Contribute to policy discussions and support the development of frameworks that promote financial resilience.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic theory and financial sector dynamics.
- Experience with quantitative research methods (e.g., econometrics) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-driven environment.
- Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and comfortable with complex data and policy issues.
Additional Information
- This is a contract role with potential for renewal based on performance and project needs.
