Product Development Scientist

• Work within the R&D group of the organization as part of development team to work on Product Development of medical devices
• Device requirement management - understand user need and translate user needs to objective, verifiable and measurable design inputs
• Plan testing for evaluating device safety and efficacy, write test protocols, collaborate with internal and external research labs to develop test methods and execute tests, write test reports
• Write strong technical and clinical justifications to close any gaps as required
• Apply risk management principles such as DFMEA to identify, control and mitigate device risks
• Provide innovative solutions to complex design problems within the bounds of manufacturing feasibility
• Work with cross-functional groups of the organization and external suppliers to guide development, effectively communicate requirements
• Meet project milestones by planning and executing own individual goals under minimal supervision
• Take ownership of the quality of own project deliverables while ensuring the internal company procedures and applicable standards are adhered to
• Plan, conduct & direct assignments to completion.
Requirements:
• Master or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field with minimal 5 years of working experiences, preferably in biotechnology industry
• Prior experience in project management is preferred
• Track record in microbiology diagnostic product development is preferred
• Demonstrate proficiency in working in microbiology laboratory environment, prior experience in PCR is preferred
• Proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
