Electrical Service Engineer

Scope of job:

1. Installation and Commissioning:

2. Install electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as per technical specifications and safety regulations.

3. Assist in the commissioning of electrical systems and ensure they are operating correctly.

4. Ensure all installations are in compliance with the relevant codes and standards.

5. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

6. Conduct routine maintenance checks on electrical systems to ensure efficient functioning.

7. Diagnose faults, troubleshoot electrical problems, and repair or replace faulty components.

8. Provide preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns and optimize system performance.

9. Customer Support:

10. Offer on-site and remote technical support to customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.

11. Respond to customer queries and resolve electrical issues promptly.

12. Provide training and guidance to customers on proper use and maintenance of electrical systems.

13. System Upgrades:

14. Assess and recommend upgrades to existing electrical systems and equipment.

15. Implement system improvements to enhance functionality, safety, and efficiency.

16. Safety & Compliance:

17. Follow all safety protocols, electrical codes, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

18. Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on electrical systems and equipment.

19. Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific electrical standards.

20. Documentation & Reporting:

21. Maintain accurate records of service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions.

22. Prepare and submit detailed reports on findings, repairs, and service schedules.
23. Maintain an inventory of electrical components and tools.
24. Monitor progress on the works carried out and coordinate with customer and shipyard on site during Repair and Commissioning Job.

25. Prepare timesheets and service report upon completion of all works and ensure all document is properly endorsed/verified by customer and uploaded to serve on time.

26. Collaboration & Coordination:

27. Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and clients to understand service requirements.

28. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for spare parts and service tools.

29. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient and effective project execution.

30. Continuous Improvement:

31. Stay updated with the latest electrical technologies, techniques, and industry best practices.

32. Attend training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
33. Contribute ideas for improving service efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

· Education:

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Certification in electrical systems or maintenance (e.g., NEC, NFPA) is a plus.

· Experience:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Service Engineer or similar role (typically 5 years above).
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, wiring, motors, circuit boards, and related components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and electrical schematics.

· Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
• Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools, multimeters, and testing devices.
• Understanding of electrical safety regulations and standards.

· Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Customer-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality service.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy electrical components and tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights when required.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions for outdoor jobs.
• Commissioning, start-up, and testing of mechanical, hydraulic, control system and electric integration system on newly build vessel.
• Recommendation of Spare Parts or solutions to customer during Repair or Troubleshoots Works.
• Constant monitoring of the progress and quality on the works carried out and coordinate with customer and shipyard on site during Repair and Commissioning Job.
• Ensure our Equipment's perform as per requirement and satisfaction of Customer.

Work Environment:

• The role requires travel to client sites for installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Work hours may vary based on project deadlines or emergency service calls.
