NIE invites applicants to join the Finance Department as an Executive. This is a 3-year contract position.
Responsibilities
You will be part of the team which handles research grant-related financial matters for the Institute. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administer research grants and projects.
- Payment processing of vendors' invoices to ensure purchases are in accordance with rules and regulations of funding agencies.
- Payment processing of transport and general staff claims.
- Responding timely to enquiries pertaining to research grant financial matters.
- Assisting in the design, implementation and review of financial processes, policies and guidelines for continuous improvements, through streamlining and automation.
- Handling ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Polytechnic Diploma in Accountancy or its equivalent.
- 2 or 3 years of working experience in accounting.
- Organized and meticulous in handling numbers and data.
- An effective team player with a positive working attitude and is willing to learn and adapt, with problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and communication skills, ability to prioritise, plan and multi-task and deliver assignments to adhere to timelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel pivot tables and formulas.
- Experience in SAP would be an added advantage.
