Job Description

• Position: Technical Chemist / Chemical Engineer
• Well Established Indonesian Palm Oil & Oleochemical MNC
• 5 Days Work Week (9:00am – 6:00pm)
• Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $6,000 + AWS + Variable Bonus
• Working Location: Pasir Panjang
• Outpatient Medical & Dental Benefits Provided
• Duration: Permanent
• Industry: Oleochemicals & Palm Oil

Main Responsibilities:

• Customer Technical Servicing

Ø  Provide day-to-day support and guidance on all product and process technical requirements.

Ø  Participate in regular cross-functional meetings to ensure that customer technical requirements are met on time.

Ø  Provide technical advice (e.g., product specifications, applications, quality) to customers, Sales, and the Supply Chain team.

Ø  Manage customer-specific and new product specification requests.

Ø  Answer customer technical questionnaires.

• Manufacturing Technical Support

Ø  Provide technical support by working with manufacturing plants in cross-functional teams to assist with process and quality improvements, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution.

Ø  Ensure that technology and quality standards for new and revised formulas/specifications are successfully transferred into manufacturing processes.

Ø  Provide technical expertise to the Engineering department to ensure new projects and plant modifications align with customer expectations and requirements.

• Business Development

Ø  Supporting new business opportunities/assessment for currently marketed products as well as for new products framed in the oleochemical industry.

Ø  Participate in the process of analysis and evaluation of new investment projects.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a technical role within the Oleochemicals or derivatives industry.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others, as well as the ability to operate independently as required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work with a vision toward continuous improvement.
• Frequent business travel required to Indonesia.
