Join a team of dynamic professionals at the School of Business Management, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders of the Media & Communication Industry. As an Academic Lecturer in the Diploma in Media & Communication Management, you will not merely deliver lectures; you will teach and guide students in the latest practices in digital content management, communication, and media, equipping them with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary for success in the digital and multi-faceted media landscape. You will mentor and guide your students not only in their academic pursuits but also in their professional growth, preparing them to make significant contributions to the media & communication industry. Your cross-departmental collaborations and partnerships with industry professionals will ensure that our programs remain cutting-edge and relevant, equipping students for the evolving challenges and opportunities in the field. In addition, you will play an active role in business development by identifying and cultivating new partnerships, expanding industry collaborations, and seeking opportunities to enhance the school's profile and offerings. Your efforts will help drive growth in student enrolment, industry engagement, and programme innovation. This role is more than teaching; it is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on your students, the academic community, and the broader industry.
[What you will be working on]
- Develop and deliver academic modules in Media & Communication Management for both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET).
- Support and guide learners in their holistic development, including providing pastoral care, supervision for projects and competitions.
- Supervise and train learners during practical attachment to the Teaching Enterprise Project (TEP) in the Media Hub and Media Studio.
- Mentor learners during Internship Programme (ITP).
- Develop strong relationships and collaborate on projects with industry partners as well as plan, coordinate and execute events for alumni.
- Conduct and support research initiatives that advance the field of digital content and communication.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and guest lectures to provide students with additional learning opportunities and networking prospects.
- Drive business development initiatives and build networks by identifying new partnership opportunities, fostering industry collaborations, and supporting the growth of academic and training programmes.
- Represent the School at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to promote our programmes and build strategic alliances.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to secure resources, sponsorships, and support for new projects and initiatives.
[What we are looking for]
Candidate should possess at least 4 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas, or in a closely related discipline:
- Digital Media
- Writing/Journalism
- Communications
- Marketing
- Content Creation &/or Management
Training/ Coaching
Strong communication skills, good interpersonal skills, team player, ability to meet deadlines, and multi-tasker.
- Strong presentation and writing skills in English.
- Passion to nurture and develop potential in learners.
- Systematic and detailed in planning and organising.
- Good team player, self-driven and learners oriented.
