Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quality standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and customer specifications and standards.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and investigations using statistical techniques such as 6-sigma and FMEA to determine the cause of quality failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and operators, to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct process audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established procedures using standards such as AS9100 and ISO9001 to ensure compliance with the quality management system requirements.
  • Maintain and analyze quality data using tools such as CMM, GOM, Gap Gun, and Profile Projector to track product quality trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to manufacturing personnel regarding quality standards, procedures, and best practices, including interpretation of GD&T.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements.
  • Manage and update documentation related to quality control processes and procedures, including Quality Work Instructions, rework routers with review and approval, Quality Methods, Standards, and Specifications, as well as issuing of hold tags.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as the Quality Clinic to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ability to navigate and instruct Solumina work instructions.

Work Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with quality tools such as root cause analysis, statistical process control, and PFMEA.
  • Expertise in AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, including a strong understanding of GD&T  Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and technologies, including the FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) process.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using statistical techniques such as 6-sigma and FMEA.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.  Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

General Requirements
- Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Versed in processing/mining data within MRP systems (Oracle/SAP/Solumina).
- Willing to work in shift environment (If required).
