Job Summary: School Attendant

The School Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety within the school premises. The role supports daily school operations by ensuring classrooms, corridors, restrooms, and common areas are clean and well-maintained. The attendant may also assist with simple maintenance tasks, student supervision, and administrative or logistical support as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, toilets, and common areas daily.
  • Ensure waste bins are emptied and disposed of properly.
  • Assist in setting up classrooms, events, and school functions.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies and inform management when stock is low.
  • Support the security and safety of students by monitoring entry/exit areas when required.
  • Assist teachers or administrative staff with simple errands and deliveries within the school.
  • Report any damages, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures. Preferably has experience in the use of security alarm system .
  • Preferably has one year of experience working in a school environment .
  • Has at least one year of experience in performing similar set of services

  • Checking and ensuring that user(s) of school facilities duly exit School by the expiry of the scheduled booking slot(s).
  • Checking and ensuring that the doors of all rooms, school gates and all-electrical appliances are turned off or locked before leaving School at the end of duty hours.
  • Disarm the School's security alarm system in the morning.
  • Arming the School's security alarm system before leaving School at the end of duty hours.
  • Logistics support for school programmes and events (e.g. assist security guard to maintain traffic control during big events, arrange tables for school examinations, etc).
Requirements:

  • Minimum education: Primary or Secondary school education.

  • Prior experience in cleaning, facility support, or school environment preferred.

  • Physically fit and able to handle cleaning equipment and materials.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

  • Able to communicate in basic English (or local language as required).

Working Conditions:

  • Work location: School premises (classrooms, corridors, toilets, canteen, etc.)

  • Working hours: Typically, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend duties during events.
