Job Title: Tool & Die Maker (Progressive & 3D Stamping Tools)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our precision engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining progressive and 3D stamping tools. This role requires strong technical skills in tool fabrication, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, with the ability to collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure tooling performance, part quality, and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Tool Fabrication & Assembly

• Manufacture and assemble complex progressive and 3D stamping tools using precision machining and hand-fitting techniques.
• Ensure dies meet all design and functional requirements, including part form accuracy, surface finish, and dimensional tolerances.

Tool Maintenance

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stamping dies.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and restore tools to optimal functionality to minimize production downtime.

Tool Design Collaboration

• Partner with Tool & Die Design and Production Engineering teams throughout the tool development process.
• Provide feedback to enhance tool manufacturability, maintainability, and longevity.

Trial & Tuning

• Conduct tool try-outs, tuning, and adjustments to achieve first-pass yield and ensure part quality.
• Optimize press parameters for new and existing tools.

Quality & Documentation

• Verify tools against technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and inspection results.
• Maintain accurate records of tool history, maintenance logs, and repair activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and propose improvements to enhance tooling performance, process stability, and cycle times.
• Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Technical Certificate or Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Precision Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum5 years of hands-on experience in tool making, with a strong focus on progressive, compound, and 3D stamping tools.
• Proven experience with progressive stamping tools and tight tolerance part fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD drawings and 2D tool design prints.
• Experience working with challenging materials such as stainless steel and copper alloys.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team setting.
