Overview Summary:

This senior podiatry position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to join our healthcare team. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, combining direct patient care with leadership and developmental duties.

Primary Responsibilities

 Assesses and manages patients referred for podiatry independently and implements appropriate treatment plans, applying specialised podiatry knowledge and skills.

 Reports to referring doctor and other members of the medical team.

 Documents patient podiatry records accurately.

 Charges patients accurately.  Updates individual performance statistical records regularly.

 Complies with clinical and service standards.

 Assists in the supervision of podiatrists in the workgroup.

 Practices within areas of professional competence and seeks clinical support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Secondary Responsibilities

 Collaborates with other healthcare members and participates in case conferences.

 Assists in the preparation of monthly performance reports for the workgroup.

 Assists in the monitoring of key performance indicators of the workgroup (clinical / service quality, revenue and productivity).

 Co-leads clinical research projects related to the workgroup.

 Prepares and regularly updates the inventory for therapy equipment for the workgroup.

 Assists in reviewing and updating clinical protocols and SOPs.

 Assists in the management of projects assigned to the workgroup.

 Co-leads in departmental activities (eg QC).

 Assists in developing, promoting and marketing new clinical services.

 Assists in budgeting for the workgroup.

 Assists in the development and co-ordination of clinical education programme for podiatry students attached to the workgroup.

 Assists in the induction of new podiatrists deployed to the workgroup.

 Contributes to departmental in-service training programmes, hospital educational talks and external talks / workshops / forums / seminars.

 Assists in the identification the training needs of staff in the workgroup.

 Networks strategically with healthcare practitioners in NUH.

 Actively updates podiatry knowledge and skills.

Requirements

 Recognized Degree in Podiatry.

 Postgraduate qualifications in relevant clinical specialty preferred.

 4 years of relevant work experience preferred.

 Good communication and interpersonal skills.

 Good supervisory and coaching skills.

 Service oriented and customer focused.

 Result oriented.

 Team worker.

 Competent in IT skills (Microsoft Excel / Word / Access / Powerpoint)
