Part-Time lecturer for DD4005 Interdisciplinary Seminar for Media Art

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply for a Part-Time Lecturer for DD4005 Interdisciplinary Seminar for Media Art. The Part-Time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate core course commencing in August 2025.

DD4005 Interdisciplinary Seminar for Media Art is a professional development course were we will prepare students for a career in the media industry following graduation. Students will benefit from the experience of contemporary industry professionals who will give guidance on essential topics such as copyright, intellectual property, law, accounting, career planning, professionalism, entrepreneurship, and employability. Students will take part in discussions and projects that will strengthen their readiness for a professional life after graduation.

Applicants to this position will be able to demonstrate expertise in overseeing the audio aspect of students' projects related to digital filmmaking, from initial concept, screenwriting, production and post-production to the final sound mix. Applicants will be able to demonstrate passion in guiding students in exploring the possibilities of audio for film in a variety of forms, which may include traditional scripted filmmaking, serialized content, non-scripted content and short-format videos.

Successful candidates will have a relevant Master's and/or PhD in audio or related field with a track record of creative practice in film production. Past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Film Production or related field and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
