What the role is

You will be part of a dynamic team that formulates, manages and executes cybersecurity policies to ensure that policies remain robust, relevant and reasonable while also facilitating compliance to these policies. You will ensure that the policies remain robust and relevant to achieve national and organizational objectives.

What you will be working on

You will be involved in developing, formulating and reviewing cybersecurity policies for MINDEF/ SAF. You will be in liaison with regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with national requirements and strategic pulses. You will be required to conduct and respond to cybersecurity audits. You will also be analyzing cybersecurity policies and regulatory issues to develop recommendations for continuous work process improvements and ensure continued relevance. You will be required to engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders on the effectiveness in meeting policy outcomes. You will also be developing educational materials to educate the ground on cybersecurity policies.

What we are looking for

You should have a tertiary education, preferably in IT (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) with focus on cyber security. You should possess good writing and verbal communication skills, problem-solving andanalytical skills, and passion for IT/cyber. Having prior relevant work experience in cyber/ICT related field and/or possession of relevant cyber security professional accreditation (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, Cloud-related certifications, etc.) would be advantageous.

About Military Security Department

The Military Security Department (MSD)'s core business is in Counter Intelligence and internal security for MINDEF/SAF. MSD was formed in 1975 to counter the threats of espionage, subversion and sabotage against MINDEF/SAF. It began with two main entities, namely the Counter Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Field Security Branch (FSB). Over the years, the department has continued to evolve and our roles expanded in tandem with the changing security environment. Today, our roles also include Counter Terrorism and Cyber Security.
