Responsibilities:

  • Review machinery and equipment specifications for compliance with technical standards.
  • Understand installation requirements for engines, generators, propulsion systems, HVAC, and refrigeration.
  • Familiar with marine piping systems (bilge, ballast, cooling, etc.) and select appropriate pumps, materials, and fittings.
  • Collaborate with designers and vendors on piping schematics and equipment layouts.
  • Review mechanical interfaces for major equipment and develop detailed 3D ship models.
  • Perform clash checks and generate material take-offs for production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marine Engineering.
  • 5+ years of shipyard experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of shipbuilding processes and technical discussions with clients.
  • Willing to travel for technical meetings as needed.
