The Defence Medical & Environmental Research Institute (DMERI) builds up technological capabilities for the protection against chemical and biological warfare agents. It also conducts research and development into combat care, human effectiveness, bio- technology and bio-engineering to enhance the safety, survivability and performance of our national forces in hostile battlefield environment.

Chemical Engineer

In this role, you will:

  • Be involved in R&D of mitigation approaches against chemical, toxin, radiological and nuclear threats
  • Ensure safe study of threats through the use of innovative technologies and engineering principles
  • Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to ensure the successful development and implementation of mitigation solutions and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to systems by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Provide consultation and training for our stakeholders
  • Support the testing of environmental samples for our stakeholders
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree/Master/PHD in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering/Chemical & Environmental Engineering/Chemical Engineering
  • Background and experience in engineering would be preferred
  • Resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in team
  • Willing to don PPE to handle toxic chemicals and materials
