Welder and Fitter

We are looking for a Welder / Fitter to support us on fabrication and other related projects, with cutting and joining metals and other materials at our work site. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your role is important in ensuring our clients receive high-quality products, by providing the foundation for a strong infrastructure.

A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment and following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. If you don't have the necessary qualifications or experience, we encourage you to apply as we may also consider candidates with willingness to be trained.

Your role

• Perform fit-up and/ or welding activities during fabrication work
• Ensure controlled fabrication drawings are used for fabrication
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material to match measurements)
• Carry out welding in accordance with WPS and project requirements
• Use hand welding and flame-cutting tools/ equipment to weld together metal components and parts
• Control & inspect welding materials to ensure its suitability for use
• Maintain job number and material traceability during the fabrication process
• Report defective material or questionable condition to production department
• Ensure all rejected welds are repaired and re-inspected
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
• Observe and practise safety procedures during fabrication process
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor

About you

• You are a Singaporean Citizen
• NITEC or certification in mechanical / welding or related discipline
• You can communicate in English, both verbally and written.
• You have an eye for detail
• You are curious and willing to learn new things; are self-motivated to develop new skills and grow.
• You can work well in a team, as well as individually
• You take ownership and pride of your work, and uphold integrity and solid work ethics.
• Prior experience in welding / fitting would be an advantage
