Job Summary:
As an R&D cum Product Management Chemist, your role is to drive the research and development efforts of new products and technologies while also managing the product lifecycle and ensuring its successful market introduction. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative products that align with customer needs and business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Research and Development:
Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new product concepts and ideas.
- Design and develop prototypes, conduct testing, and evaluate feasibility to validate product concepts and technical viability.
- Utilize engineering principles, tools, and techniques to optimize product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Stay updated with the latest advancements, technologies, and industry standards relevant to the product domain.
Product Management:
Develop and execute product strategies, roadmaps, and launch plans in alignment with company goals and market demands.
- Conduct market and customer research to identify product requirements, features, and specifications.
- Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancements and improvements.
Work closely with operations teams to ensure successful product commercialization and production.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive product development and launch activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure product meets technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Engage with operations team to ensure smooth transition from R&D to production and resolve any production-related issues.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies and sales support materials.
Work closely with sales teams to provide product training, technical support, and assist in addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
Project Management:
Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Create project plans, set milestones, and allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Communicate project updates and status to management.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of product development processes, technical specifications, and project milestones.
Prepare and present reports, including product performance metrics, market analysis, and competitive assessments.
Intellectual Property (IP) Management:
Assist in identifying and protecting intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights related to new products and technologies.
Job Requirement:
Education and Experience:
Min. Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/Organometallic Chemistry.
At least 3 years(PhD)/5 years (Master's degree) of working experience in research and development and product management role. Significant R&D exposure to specialty chemicals or semiconductor wafer fab environment is considered advantageous.
Technical Skills:
Strong technical background and proficiency in engineering principles, design methodologies, and product development processes.
- Knowledge of relevant technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes related to the industry.
- Understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and testing procedures relevant to product development.
Strong instrumentation hands on experience will be preferred.
Product Management:
Knowledge and experience in product management concepts, including market research, competitive analysis, and product lifecycle management.
Strong business acumen and understanding of financial aspects related to product management.
Project Management:
Strong project management skills to effectively plan, coordinate, and execute product development projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
Ability to plan, schedule and tracking project progress.
Communication and Collaboration:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical and product-related information to cross-functional teams and customers.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse teams.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and drive consensus among team members.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze complex technical and market data.
Ability to identify and resolve technical issues and challenges during the product development process.
