Lab Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To provide technical support for Laboratory Class Experiments.
2. To provide technical support to undergraduate/postgraduate projects.
3. Performing other tasks/assignments assigned by laboratory supervisors.
4. Involved in the daily operations, maintenance and upkeep of the laboratories and teaching facilities.
5. Assist in laboratory procurement and vendor engagement.
6. Processing financial documents; submission of claims.
7. Maintain laboratory equipment inventory.
8. Assist in the lab safety management system and safety certification audit.
9. Assist undergraduate students, MSc students, intern students, outreach students for their design projects including design and minor fabrication.

1. Diploma holder in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
2. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
3. A good team player and able to work independently.
4. Desire to learn new skills as well as take on new responsibilities.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
6. Knowledge of laboratory safety management will be an advantage.
7. Knowledge/skill on 3D printing and some electronics knowledge will be an advantage.
8. Background knowledge in machining and computers/workstations is an advantage.
