Job Responsibilities

  • Handle patient registration, specimen reception, preparation, and packing.
  • Conduct laboratory tests (e.g., urine microscopy, full blood count, HbA1c) and operate/maintain instruments in line with work instructions.
  • Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG, and spirometry.
  • Verify, report, and investigate test results promptly, addressing anomalies as needed.
  • Carry out daily quality control checks and troubleshoot issues when required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for traceability (e.g., QC acknowledgements, maintenance checklists).
  • Address patient queries and escalate to Centre IC where necessary.
  • Comply with safety and infection control protocols to safeguard staff and patients.
  • Support Centre IC with assigned tasks.

Qualification

  • Degree in Medical Laboratory, Biomedical Science, or related disciplines.
  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory (public or private healthcare) is an advantage; training will be provided.
  • Phlebotomy and heel-prick sampling experience preferred; training available if required.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Professional and positive attitude in managing challenging or disgruntled patients.
  • Strong multitasking ability and able to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and good interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); additional computer skills are an advantage.
