Science Laboratory Assistant

Singapore EXASOFT PTE. LTD. Full time $4,000 - $6,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be stationed in the Science Lab preparation room and science labs during working hours.
  • Prepare and provide apparatus, equipment, and teaching materials as requested by science teachers.
  • Collect and clear equipment after lessons, safely dispose of waste, and wash apparatus.
  • Check for faulty or damaged equipment after each lesson and report to the science teacher and/or HOD; carry out repairs if possible.
  • Coordinate ith the Technical Assistant (TA) to ensure all IT equipment (desktops,notebooks,visualisers,projectors) are in working condition.
  • Check and replenish the first aid box/kit regularly.
  • Distribute desk copies and science materials to teachers.
  • Prepare and maintain an inventory of lab stocks twice a year.
  • Liaise with the HOD to replenish consumables.
  • Maintain a stock book, record breakages, and arrange for replacements.
  • Track apparatus and reference materials loaned to teachers.
  • Maintain science exhibits (e.g. noticeboards, interactive and life exhibits) around the school.
  • Support teachers during practical assessments.
  • Assist in preparations for science exhibitions.
  • Provide general support to science teachers and the HOD on science-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Independent and confident with a positive work attitude.
  • Preferably completed Secondary 4 education.
  • Relevant experience working in a science laboratory; ideally with 2 years of experience in a primary school setting.
  • A strong team player who is organised, meticulous, and able to multi-task.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Working Hours:

Mondays to Fridays, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM (inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break)
