Temasek adopts an ecosystem development approach to build new platforms and transform existing businesses for sustainable growth and value creation. This involves collaboration with external stakeholders to enhance our network of partners and facilitate cooperation in building future growth sectors in Singapore.

SGM is responsible for forging strategic partnerships with government and other relevant stakeholders in Singapore to support the development of a resilient and vibrant Temasek ecosystem. SGM works closely with investment and portfolio development teams to identify relevant public policies, engage key stakeholders including government officials, regulators, and trade unions, and build new economy enterprises and ecosystems in Singapore.

Role

The successful candidate will analyze and assess relevant public policies and identify opportunities for Temasek and its ecosystem. They will work with the Director to manage Temasek's public policy positions across various domains.

Additionally, the candidate will develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies, lead policy engagement initiatives, and foster strategic partnerships to translate policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes that support projects by Temasek and its ecosystem.

They will also plan, organize, and manage SGM's stakeholder engagement platforms to expand and strengthen collaborations with key stakeholders in Singapore.

The candidate must work effectively with teams across the organization, including Investment, Portfolio Development, and Emerging Technologies, to represent the company's positions on various policy issues.

The ideal candidate should have a deep interest and understanding of how politics, business, finance, sustainability, technology, innovation, workforce, and international relations are interconnected, as these impact our projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and map key policy stakeholders relevant to Temasek's projects, especially in energy transition, sustainability, resilience, and digital sectors.
2. Develop and lead engagement strategies to build relationships with key stakeholders and strengthen Temasek's network.
3. Monitor and assess strategic policy issues relevant to Temasek's ecosystem.
4. Lead cross-cutting project workstreams involving multiple teams.
5. Drive internal and external meetings and engagement platforms.
6. Plan, organize, and manage stakeholder engagement and networking platforms.

Requirements

1. Degree in International Relations, Public Policy, Law, Business Management, Economics, or related fields.
2. 8-10 years of experience in government relations or public policy, with good protocol management knowledge.
3. Strong policy network in Singapore and ability to interact effectively at senior levels.
4. Proven track record in solving complex issues and delivering results.
5. Keen interest in translating policy/regulatory engagements into commercial outcomes.
6. Experience in strategy within government agencies or corporations is advantageous.
7. Strong analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
8. Ability to multi-task and operate in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
9. Excellent interpersonal skills.
