Job Summary:

As an Information Security Consultant, you'll partner with product teams to understand the proposed new products and changes to PayPal products to ensure security is part of the design, development, and release to deliver secure solutions to our customers.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Leverage specialized security expertise to identify and resolve complex security issues, recommending best practices and determining new approaches that have an impact on broader security operations, while aligning security strategies with business priorities
• Partner across teams and key stakeholders to drive security initiatives, leading and solutioning complex projects and programs to strengthen overall security posture.
• Apply advanced analytical skills and sound judgment to solve security challenges, considering diverse perspectives and innovative solutions. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, understanding their security implications to the company's context.
• Directly contribute to improvements within the security domain and occasionally beyond, ensuring decisions lead to meaningful enhancements in security practices.
• Leverage relationships across teams, both within and outside of security, to influence initiatives and integrate feedback into security processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

The Security consulting team works across PayPal's enterprise and Business Units to provide education, technical requirements, policy alignment, and gap management for day-to-day efforts, internal use applications, along with PayPal customer products to enable the business to succeed while reducing risk.

As Security Consultant

• You'll work with Product Architecture, Security Engineering, and internal enterprise cyber security groups to ensure new products meet current standards and policies
• We're the dedicated trusted Information security advisor for Product and Platforms Vertical(s) within the governance process
• Our team provides alignment/approval on controls to mitigate identified information security risks linked to PayPal product development
• Document identified Information Security risks related to the new solutions being presented in the PCR (Product Change Review) process
• Ensure the required Cyber Security processes are followed for new products like SPLC, Threat Modeling, Code scanning, and Pen Testing prior to product launch
• Partner with key product stakeholders to enable them to deliver secure products by providing early guidance and engagement on security requirements

What we are looking for

• 7+ Years of Experience in Information Security.
• Demonstrated understanding of application security, network architecture, security fundamentals, PCI requirements, PSD2 SCA, secure data handling & storage, cryptography and translate them to business stakeholders
• Attention to detail, excellent analytical thinking, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to partner across multiple teams to translate security controls for complex vulnerabilities
• Eagerness to engage with product teams early to help them understand the required security steps and high-risk areas to avoid during the development of new products

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Relevant Certifications in GCP/AWS/Azure, CISSP, Application Security
