Position Purpose

The Database Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of all company databases. This includes managing, maintaining, and supporting Oracle and MSSQL databases, as well as implementing and monitoring Change Data Capture (CDC) processes to ensure data consistency and availability.

Job Functions
  • Manage and maintain Oracle and MSSQL databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Monitor database performance and health, and perform tuning to optimize system efficiency.
  • Implement and manage data replication and Change Data Capture (CDC) solutions to ensure real-time data synchronization.
  • Develop and execute database backup and recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Handle database security, including user access control and vulnerability management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to support business applications.
Educations and Experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle and MSSQL over 3 years.
  • Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies (e.g., IBM CDC, Qlik CDC, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with database migration and high-availability solutions is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of database administration, performance tuning, and security for Oracle and MSSQL.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
  • Strong understanding of data replication and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
