Job Title: Restaurant Cook (Rojak Specialist)

Salary: $3500-$4000

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and passionate Restaurant Cook with experience in preparing Rojak to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in traditional and modern Rojak preparation, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. The Restaurant Cook will be responsible for preparing meals according to the menu, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Rojak and other menu items according to restaurant recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality expectations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper food storage.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management and report any shortages to the kitchen manager.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to portion control and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
  • Receive and store deliveries properly.
  • Handle customer dietary requests and allergy considerations appropriately.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in preparing Rojak.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Understanding of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs if required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Culinary school training or relevant certification is a plus but not required.
