The Role: Supporting the Cognitive Platform

We are seeking a highly motivated AI Systems Engineer Intern to help build and maintain the core infrastructure that powers our entire company. You will work directly with our systems engineers to support the dual-purpose platform that serves both our external SaaS customers and our internal AI researchers.

This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced startup. You won't be fetching coffee; you'll be writing code, automating deployments, and helping keep our critical systems running, learning how to build a scalable, cloud-native platform from the ground up.

What You Will Do
  • Support CI/CD Pipelines: Assist in building, maintaining, and debugging our automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, ArgoCD) to support our "relentless shipping" culture.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain infrastructure scripts using tools like Terraform or Pulumi to help manage our cloud resources.
  • Kubernetes & Cloud-Native Support: Help deploy, monitor, and manage services on our Kubernetes (K8s) clusters.
  • Data Pipeline Assistance: Assist in monitoring and managing our data ingestion pipelines (e.g., Kafka) and dataflow (DAG) orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster).
  • Automation & Tooling: Write scripts (Python, Go, or Shell) to automate routine tasks, tests, and deployments.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Help configure and monitor our alerting and logging systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure platform health.
  • Support AI Researchers: Act as a support contact for our research team, helping them troubleshoot their compute workloads and data access on the platform.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Academic Background: Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong Coder: Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably Python, Go, or a systems-level language.
  • DevOps/Infra Curiosity: A deep and demonstrable interest in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), MLOps, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Key Concepts Familiarity: You have a basic understanding of (or a strong desire to learn) Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and at least one major cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Startup Mentality: You are a proactive, "roll-up-your-sleeves" builder. You are eager to learn, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
