ISTD Associate

Associate (Laboratory and IT Infrastructure) (5 months temporary)

Job Description

This person reports to Deputy Director (ISTD) and is part of the lab technologist team to support ISTD faculty and students in the areas of lab inventory management and maintenance, IT and lab operational support services, procurement, logistics support at events and management of student project prototypes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Setup display project booths and provide logistics support for events and outreach activities
• Prepare IoT devices/laptops/desktops/tablets/equipment for lab classes and outreach workshops
• Support lab operations and maintenance for operability, safety and cleanliness
• Assist in the procurement process of drafting requirements, sourcing for quotations from suppliers, award recommendation, goods receipt and invoice processing
• Assist in the inventory management of infrastructure systems, electronic equipment/peripherals, computing and IoT devices
• Maintain up-to-date software and OS patches for workstations and laptops
• Technical/Lab support for selected classes and student exams
• Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Reporting Officer

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in a Computing or Engineering, or any other equivalent educational qualification
• At least two to three years of related working experience in one or more of the domain areas (end-user computing, lab/teaching support, inventory management) is preferred.
• Good communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, service-oriented, ability to work independently and in a team
