Singapore Development Services is responsible for the development and characterization manufacturing processes used for the production of novel therapeutic recombinant proteins for Lonza's global client base.

Viral Clearance team which is part of Purification department based primarily in
Singapore Science Park, works
closely with our customers, and with different functions including MSAT, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Proposal/Program Management, Process Development, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and external testing facility.

As Senior Scientist you will involve in Viral Clearance studies for developmental/IND/BLA programs, performing lab work such as setup & operate chromatography, ultrafiltration and nano-filtration systems in accordance with GMP standards & guidelines (e.g. EMEA and ICH Q5A).

Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to EHS rules and regulations at all times.
• Document results in accordance with Lonza policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) – as appropriate.
• Perform activities with high levels of Right-First-Time, ensuring flawless execution with individuals training and/or downstream operations.
• Lead projects in areas of expertise with growing scale and complexity. Provide mentorship to junior analysts in simpler work stages.
• Efficiently plan your own time and prioritize lab work with minimal input from the manager to deliver project goals.
• Develop as Dept SME in one or more areas aligned with training plans.
• Provide general lab support, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory of supplies.
• Troubleshoot equipment and scientific issues, developing expertise in resolving project and process-related challenges.
• Drive and actively contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
• Participate in internal and customer project teams, communicating directly with customers to ensure project success.
• Draft reports/protocols for review and may write SOPs, risk assessments, and related documents for safety and equipment maintenance.
• Perform training in areas of expertise and uphold data integrity principles in accordance with Lonza policies. Proactively evaluate, identify, and improve data integrity processes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Degree/post-graduate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific field.
• 0 to 4 years of experience in a lab either in industry or academia, or via an industry work training program.
• The final role offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
• Proven understanding of the theory and application of antibody production and purification of biological therapeutics.
• Solid understanding of cGMP regulations and demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and strong teamworking skills.
