Who We Need

The Laboratory Despatch personnel is responsible to provide daily laboratory despatch services to the Blood Bank, Referral Laboratories and all clinics outside the hospital.

  • Perform scheduled and urgent trips to Referral Laboratories and the Blood Bank to deliver and collect blood products and laboratory samples.
  • Assist the hospital's main pharmacy with the collection of medication from other hospitals when necessary..
  • Ensure all laboratory sample collection requests are completed within the same day during working hours.
  • Respond promptly to emergency laboratory collections and despatch requests.
  • Coordinate despatch duties collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient workflow and optimise productivity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all despatch activities.
  • Ensure the despatch vehicle (van and motorcycle) is properly maintained and kept in good working condition at all times.
  • Return the van key to the Blood Bank section at the end of each day.
  • Top up cash card (for dispatch vehicle) as and when it is necessary.
  • Undertakes to perform other duties as requested by the Laboratory Manager/ Laboratory Technologist.

How to Succeed

  • Minimum PSLE qualification or higher.
  • Possesses a valid Singapore Driving license Class 2 and Class 3.
  • Preferably 2-3 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the role and the hospital.
  • Promote teamwork within the department and foster positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • 42 hours per week (5.5day work week).
  • Outdoor despatch work using the hospital van or individual motorcycle. (A driving allowance will be provided for the use of a personal motorcycle.)
