Job Description

This job provides you with the opportunity to develop skills in collecting primary data as well as handling large datasets, data analysis, and causal inference. It is a good opportunity to learn and build your skills in fieldwork and data analysis. If you are interested in a future career in data analytics or graduate studies in economics, this research assistantship will also give you the relevant training and exposure.

This is a full-time position from Oct 2025 on a one-year renewable contract.

In accordance with the terms of the project funding, applicants with Singapore citizenship and permanent residence will be preferred.

Job Responsibilities

The Research Assistant (RA) will assist Professor Ivan Png in applied microeconomic research. Duties include compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing. Current projects include the productivity of foreign workers and taxi drivers )

Qualifications and Skills

  • Honours degree in economics, business, or related discipline.
  • Skilled in programming and statistics.
  • Willing to work independently, in the field and office.
