The TCM Therapy Assistant provides support to Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners in delivering safe, effective, and holistic healthcare services. This role involves assisting in clinical procedures, preparing herbal prescriptions, caring for patients, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The assistant acts as a bridge between patients and practitioners, contributing to a professional and healing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for therapies such as acupuncture, cupping, tuina (massage), and moxibustion.
Assist practitioners during treatments and monitor patient comfort and safety.
Ensure proper sterilization and hygiene of all therapeutic tools and materials.
Record treatment details and update patient files accurately.
Herbal & Medicine Preparation
Assist in dispensing, measuring, and packing herbal prescriptions under the practitioner's guidance.
Maintain and organize herbal medicine inventory, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
Provide patients with correct usage instructions as directed by the practitioner.
Patient Care & Communication
Welcome and register patients, collect relevant medical history, and explain treatment procedures.
Offer pre-treatment and post-treatment guidance to support patient recovery.
Observe and report any adverse patient reactions during or after therapy.
Provide basic lifestyle and wellness information aligned with TCM principles (under supervision).
Administrative & Operational Duties
Manage scheduling of appointments, patient records, and administrative tasks.
Support billing, payment, and front-desk operations.
Ensure clinic cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming environment.
Assist in health promotion activities, workshops, and community events.
Professional Development
Participate in training to deepen understanding of TCM practices and safety protocols.
Stay updated on clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of patient care.
Job Requirements
Interest or basic knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine practices preferred.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused attitude.
Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and work in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Working Conditions
Based in a TCM clinic, wellness center, or hospital setting.
May require weekend or public holidays. Graveyard or evening shifts depending on clinic operating hours.
Physical activity involved (preparing equipment, assisting patients, organizing stock).
