What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

The Regional Project Coordinator (SPOC) / Delivery Lead will serve as the regional Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the delivery of BAT's global HR transformation programme, ensuring successful re-deployment of SAP SuccessFactors across all markets in the respective region. This role drives regional planning, localisation, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support, while aligning local execution with global programme goals, timelines, and governance. The Delivery Lead ensures seamless coordination between global and local teams, manages interdependencies, and champions stakeholder engagement to achieve adoption and business readiness.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Project Coordination & Governance

  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all regional project-related activities.
  • Represent the region in global project meetings, steering committees, and governance forums.
  • Establish and manage a regional project plan aligned with the global implementation roadmap.
  • Track progress, identify risks/issues, and escalate critical matters to global or regional leadership.
  • Support monitoring adherence to timelines, scope, and budget at the regional level.

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Engage and coordinate with key regional and local stakeholders including HR, Payroll, IT, and Compliance teams.
  • Conduct regular status updates, planning meetings, and review sessions with regional stakeholders.
  • Facilitate alignment between global program goals and regional business requirements.

3. Requirements Gathering & Localization

  • Lead local design phase in close collaboration with global team
  • Collection and initial validation of local business requirements (e.g., legal, regulatory, payroll, language needs).
  • Ensure proper translation of these into system configuration requests, balancing global standards with local needs.
  • Work with global teams to review and approve localization deviations or enhancements.

4. Solution Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee regional solution configuration, data migration, integration, and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with system integrators to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and functional requirements.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) at the regional level, including test planning, execution, and defect management.

5. Change Management & Communication

  • Support and drive the regional change management strategy in close collaboration with regional Change Management Coordinator (from and line with the global approach.
  • Coordinate communication plans tailored to local audiences (HR teams, managers, end-users).
  • Organize training sessions and support materials to ensure regional readiness and adoption in close collaboration with regional Change Management Coordinator.

6. Data Readiness & Migration

  • Oversee regional data cleansing, validation, and transformation efforts in preparation for migration in close collaboration with regional Data SPOC.
  • Act as the liaison between local data owners and global migration teams in close collaboration with regional Change Management Coordinator.
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance regulations are observed throughout.

7. Cutover & Go-Live Readiness

  • Support regional cutover planning and execution (legacy system shutdown, data load, environment validation).
  • Lead regional go-live support activities including hypercare planning and post-go-live monitoring.
  • Coordinate with global support teams to resolve post-go-live issues quickly and efficiently.

8. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, data protection (e.g., GDPR), and corporate policies.
  • Proactively identify regional risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain audit trails of key decisions and documentation.

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years' experience in Human Resources, with strong exposure to regional or multi-market HR transformation initiatives.
  • Proven track record of leading HR delivery programmes, preferably involving HR technology implementations such as SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior HR and business leaders across geographies to drive strategic people initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, organisational design, and change management in a multinational context.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required:

  • Strong Project Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects across geographies, manage complex timelines, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational & Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and developing effective solutions with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems.
  • HR Technology Fluency: solid understanding of SAP SuccessFactors or similar HCM platforms, and the ability to work with system integrators and technology teams effectively.
  • Collaborative and Influential: skilled at engaging and aligning diverse stakeholders, from senior leaders to operational teams, while balancing global direction with local needs.
  • Business and Change Acumen: able to connect HR technology to broader business and people strategy, while managing resistance and enabling adoption through change interventions.
  • Detail-Oriented and Organised: excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the discipline to manage dependencies, risks, and deliverables end-to-end.

Knowledge / Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisational Development, or any related discipline
  • A postgraduate qualification in Human Resources or equivalent professional certification will be desirable.
  • Project Management or HR Technology certifications (e.g. Agile, SAP SuccessFactors) would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, organisational design, labour regulations and data privacy regulations as they apply to HR systems and processes.
