RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for cooking rice and porridge, vegetable and fruit cutting, soft and blended diet. Assist Cook I in meal cooking and preparation, delivery of food trolleys and food bags to residences and staff.

  • Prepare daily soup, dessert and beverages in a timely manner

  • Cook rice and porridge, cut and pack daily fruits in a timely manner

  • Prepare soft and blended diet timely and according to hygiene, dietary standards and requests

  • Ensure food trolleys, food bags, crockeries and cutleries are ready for meal delivery

  • Send and collect food trolleys from residences for every meal in a timely manner

  • Assist Driver to load and unload food bags

  • Assist Cook I in daily meals preparation for residents and staff

  • Assist steward in dishwashing

  • Assist Cook I in daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment at work station

  • Ensure all received goods are stored properly

  • Remove all carton boxed and arrange items based on first-in-first-out (FIFO) standards

  • Maintain a clean, neat and tidy, pest-free storage and dry store

  • Practice good personal hygiene practices at all times

  • Any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the management 

JOB REQUIREMENTS (include shift work, perm night shift, etc.)

  • Minimum Primary School Education or equivalent

  • Able to understand and speak basic English

  • At least 1 year of relevant culinary experience

  • Possess Certificate in Basic Food Hygiene

  • Those who possess Class 3 driving license will have an advantage

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects/Must be able to stand for long hours

Working Conditions

  • Uniform and duty meal are provided

  • Safety shoes required (yearly reimbursement, claimable after probation)

  • Non-air-conditioned environment

  • No smoking allowed within the premises of the nursing home

  • Any timeslot of 8-hour shift between 5:00AM – 7:00PM 

    (6-day work week, rotating shifts include work on weekends and public holidays, no fixed rest day)
