Board Function:

·       The primary responsibility of the Electrical Plant Engineer is to ensure the reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment and drive energy efficiency and cost optimisation within the plant.  They are also responsible to uphold electrical safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance. By developing and implementing safety protocols, conduct regular audits and inspections, and train personnel on electrical safety practices.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

§  Ensure all Plant's equipment reliability and usability.

·       Review and plan electrical equipment replacement schedule.

·       Conduct root analysis for complicated equipment breakdown and exceptional report.

·       Recommend for equipment modifications.

·       Take charge of schedule for electrical related equipment SDM tasks

·       Respond to urgent breakdown incident.

§  Ensure energy efficiency by optimizing energy consumption.

·       Review and develop electrical related SOPs.

§  Monitor and ensure Plant's compliance with electrical safety regulations, and systems and equipment meet the required standards.

·       Response for yearly sub-station shutdown PM

·       Attend to all electrical-related troubleshooting.

·       Manage inventory updates.

·       Review, prepare and provide inputs for Risk Assessment

§  Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance strategies and identify areas for cost reduction.

·       Manage and supervise contractors' work.

·       Negotiate the price of the proposal sent by contractors.

·       Review reports submitted by contractors.

·       Manage the cost of the project and project milestones.

·       Manage the RM cost.

§  Ensures all projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet the desired specifications.

·       Review all vendor contracts and recommend the performance of contractors.

·       Conduct vendor service performance audit.

·       Liaise with UMT HQ technical team for process improvement and equipment issues.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in MNC Chemical Plant
  • Self-disciplined, meticulous, and resourceful
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical process
  • Familiar with ESH regulations.
