Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified 6G TIG/ARC Welder to join our client's fabrication and welding team. The ideal candidate must possess advanced welding skills, particularly in 6G position welding, and have hands-on experience with TIG (GTAW) and ARC (SMAW) processes. This role requires the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, adhere to quality standards, and maintain strict safety protocols during welding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding in the 6G position using TIG and ARC techniques on various materials, including stainless steel and carbon steel.

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.

  • Prepare and clean welding joints using grinders, wire brushes, or other hand tools.

  • Conduct high-quality welds in different positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) and ensure strong, leak-proof, and aesthetically neat welds.

  • Operate welding equipment efficiently, setting the correct voltage and amperage based on material type and thickness.

  • Inspect completed welds using visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to ensure compliance with welding codes.

  • Follow safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE during all welding operations.

  • Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition and report defects.

  • Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure all welds meet project and industry standards.

  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and maintain documentation for welding logs and inspection reports.

Essential Qualifications:

  • ITI / Diploma in Welding or related technical field.

  • Valid 6G Welder Certification (ASME/ANSI/API or equivalent).

  • Certification in TIG and ARC welding processes (GTAW and SMAW).

  • Additional safety certifications such as OSHA / NEBOSH (preferred).

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in TIG and ARC welding techniques.

  • Strong understanding of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).

  • Ability to work with different materials and thicknesses.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

  • Capability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights, if required.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.

  • Physical stamina and ability to work under high-temperature environments.
